What is the success rate of stem cell therapy for knees?
Hi this is Josh with dream body clinic. Today we're gonna talk a bit about the success rate of our knees stem cell treatment. We have an incredibly high success rate. I would say it's easily over 95%. The patients that come to us typically have arthritis, meaning no cartilage left, very little cartilage or cartilage damage. They may have torn meniscus. They may have torn ACL or PCL. They might have tendon damage, muscle damage or may even have chipped bone. The success rate does depend on the different issues going on, but for soft tissues like meniscus, ligaments or tendons, it's pretty much universal. You're going to see results. If you don't see full regeneration of any lesions there, you're going to see near complete.
I can't think of hardly any cases where you have tendonitis and we haven't seen total regeneration. Then the next would be the grade of tear of for example meniscus. There's four different grades of tears or lesions you got first, second, third, and fourth. Fourth degree typically means you've either torn it completely, or it's pretty much there in those cases. Stem cells are not magic. They aren't going to reattach anything. And in fact, we would not even want to do treatment at that point. Surgery becomes necessary at that point. But you would realize at what point it is. At fourth grade you wouldn't be walking.
If you're still walking around, even up to third degree lesions, you'll see meniscus heal very easily. I personally had multiple meniscus tears all healed up. The MRIs are there on a website.
The toughest one is cartilage. Now you hear a lot of back and forth with it though. We have consistently seen cartilage regeneration on first, second, even third degree osteoarthritis. We typically regeneration with one treatment. Fourth degree osteoarthritis often called bone on bone is a bit tougher. There needs to be just a little bit of cartilage there so stem cells can still work because they're guiding the cellular repair.
They're guiding the different mechanisms, such as removing the scar tissue, regenerating the cartilage, all of this. They're just the manager on a construction site, telling everything where to go so you can heal like you did when you were a little kid. In fourth degree osteoarthritis though, there's usually not a lot of cartilage. We typically see people get back to third, second degree, usually at least second degree osteoarthritis. Meaning that's usually pretty close to a 50% increase of cartilage. It's huge with just one treatment. Then a lot of those patients may have to come back in six months to a year after treatment For a follow up injection to get them closer to a hundred percent cartilage regeneration. So that would be really the only case we've seen where it may take a second treatment.
We also get asked a lot. How long do these results really last? Is it like when I get a cortisone shot that I need to come back every three to six months, no. It's cellular regeneration we are talking about. The gains that you get are the gains you keep, it's like having a new knee.
I had my knee done over four years ago. I'm back in the gym. I'm pain-free and doing well. I'm doing all the squats I want. I'm riding my bicycle constantly. Going for jogs on the beach. No pain, no issues. So you keep that until you injured it again. Like anything it will eventually wear down again. Maybe in four years, eight years, 10 years, who knows? It just depends how long your body keeps going with it. You'll also find after you heal, probably going to want to train a little bit different. I don't go out and do a super heavyweights like I used to. I now do lower weights, more reps, and I've had no issues since. I'm pain-free. and totally good to go.
So we'd like to help you out with that too. If you have questions you want to learn more, you can call us any time for a free consultation at (833) 445 9089. Or check out the website www.dreambody.clinic. Thanks.
