This video documents my experimentation with the famous pyro mix that can be ignited with a couple drops of water. I had trouble getting it to work consistently at first but I was able to figure out what the problem was and the final result was pretty cool. Even the failures produced something interesting: a plastic-like compound that actually resists dissolving in water to the point that it can survive days of rainfall more or less intact. This experiment came from a textbook (I try not to look at other videos on experiments I want to do), the Preparatory Manual of Black Powder and Pyrotechnics (link to free download below).
