They already have mandatory SIM card registration in the Philippines for the last 9 months or so.
All new sims have to be registered with a government-issued ID, also a photo of the registrant holding the passport or driving licence next to their face.
All old sims had a 4-month grace period to be registered or blocked from use.
Fines are applicable for false registration.
Expats and Tourists also have to upload their flight tickets for leaving the Philippines.
Seems like developing countries are ahead in the race.
Freedom of speech, opinions, etc totally wiped out.
