Ferocity: A slice of the Pacific War

The memories of one battle in the Pacific War and what it did to my late Uncle James who fought on Guam in the Marianas Island Campaign, Iwo Jima and in the later half of the battle for Okinawa in 1945. The United States has never faced a more brutal nor determined foe than the Imperial Japanese soldier. The war in the Pacific required absolute ferocity and absolute brutality and it changed the lives of the men who had to fight in grime, muck, mud, blood and hell.

This is a preview of my upcoming series on the Battle of Guam put together after two months of "Boony Stomping" through the hills and jungles of this hard fought for island that brought B-29's to the door-step of the Japanese empire.
