Ao Kao Beach (White Sand Beach) - Koh Mak Thailand 2024 - Most Popular Beach on the Island

This is the most popular beach with 12 little resorts along this beach. Ao Kao Beach is about 5 km long, so you will find a lot of quiet spots here to enjoy this beautiful beach.

This beach is considered one of the most romantic areas on the island. The beauty of this beach is –like everywhere in the world- changes from high and low-tide.

Some people prefer the high-tide, so you just walk a few steps until the water is deep enough to swim. Some prefer the low-tide, so you have more of the sandy beach.

From here, you can enjoy nice sunsets and a view of Koh Rayang Nok and Koh Rayang Nai. Coconut trees and sea pines line the back of the beach making for some very scenic pictures.

Ao Kao Beach has the small pier for the Leelawadee Speedboat. It’s right in front of the Makathanee Resort giving easy access for visitors and day trips to other islands and snorkeling.

The beach has very nice sand. The water is perfect and a great place to stay on the island for beach lovers. The island is always very quiet so you will never have crowds on this long stretch of beautiful white sand.
