Two of Clarendon’s most wanted men, 25-year-old Leon Rose, otherwise called ‘Hitler’, and 24-year-old Zemmar Nelson, known as ‘Terminator Boy’, have so far been identified among the six men who were shot and killed by members of the security forces in Effortville, May Pen, Clarendon on Sunday morning.
The men were cut down during a joint police/military operation in the volatile community that involved a shootout which lasted for about an hour, law enforcement sources indicated.
Two Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldiers were also slightly injured in the operation.
Reports are that during the operation, law enforcement personnel came under heavy gunfire from gunmen in the community.
The security personnel returned the gunfire and six men were found suffering from gunshot wounds after the extended gun battle.
Three high-powered guns - an AK-47 assault rifle, an M16 assault rifle and a shotgun, along with ammunition – were seized when the shooting subsided.
