In this video I finish eating my "Kanyao" durian, and recap the main differences between the two main sub-species.
From a little bit of research that I did afterwards, apparently there are hundreds if not thousands of sub-species of Durian, nonetheless the two most common ones are the "Monthong" (the most prevalent one I would say, based on my visit to Thailand) and "Kanyao". The Monthong is generally bigger in size, but the Kanyao is more coveted. So I had to pay a bunch just to try this. I hope I didn't get scammed, LOL.
Also it's funny, just as I was ending this video, there was just one more thing that I totally wanted to try before I left, and it was the sweet sticky rice wrapped in a banana leaf with some custard on top. And, can you believe it? just as I gave up hope of finding it, I did find the lady that prepares it. So I HAD to try it. Watch my next video to see how that goes.
The thing that I liked about this market, it that at first glance the food stalls all were unique, meaning that there was not two food-stalls that prepared Papaya salad, just one, and the same goes for the Sweet, sticky rice. With the fruits and beverages it's a little bit different, hehe...
How to get here?: Take the "MRT" (Subway) to the NEXT station right after "Chatuchak Park", Or Tor Kor Market is right next to Chatuchak Weekend Market, literally 2 minutes away by foot. You can't miss it.
Enjoy!
