"Agents executed a search warrant on Farnham's office computer in March after cybercrime officials discovered that an email address linked to the computer was being used to trade pornographic images of children."

"A terminally ill former Illinois state lawmaker was sentenced today to eight years in prison for sending more than 2,000 files containing child pornography through office computers...He admitted that November 25, 2013, he sent an email from a computer in his Elgin office with the following message: ‘do you trade. This is what I lik.’...Farnham attached two files to the email that he knew contained child pornography, according to the plea agreement...In another message, Farnham said: '12 is about as old as I can handle. I love them at 6 7 8.'...Federal agents found 2,765 images of child pornography on Farnham's computers and electronic storage devices...Many of the images were graphic in nature and involved sexual acts with children as young as 2 years old...some of the images involved sadistic conduct and depictions of violence...The Democrat, who is married and has a child, twice sponsored bills to impose stricter sentences on pedophiles...An arrest affidavit claimed that between August 2013 and January 2014, hundreds of images and video, including one of a six-month-old baby being abused, were shared from the email address...He had represented Illinois since 2009 and was chair of the Government Relations Committee, according to his candidate biography."
