I am certain most would regret posting something like this (but screw regrets: progressive discussion outweighs any regret), but I make a point to keep my mind open ideas evolving in my head (especially with sharing them), so since my stance on DREAMers changes and teeters on yes/no, I figured one doesn't make any progress without opening a dialogue and getting ideas, right?
So here goes...
The Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP) sent a memo to Democrats that specifically stated 'The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success.' (https://www.scribd.com/document/368752696/Memo-On-Dreamers#from_embed). We all know Democrats use their voters as tools. This memo was co-authored by Jennifer Palmeri (former Clinton Communications Director), and advised them to refuse Republican bills that don't offer a 'fix' for Dreamers. BASICALLY, THEY ARE INFORMING DEMOCRATS TO STOP REPRESENTING THEIR VOTERS IN FAVOR OF AGENDA.
Even after I made this video, my mind is still up in the air regarding anchor-babies (what's stated in my footage here is a consistently changing conclusion). I'd rather give back to the youth of American-born citizens vs. rewarding people who commit crimes and bring in victims (the Dreamers) who are the product of crime, not the criminals themselves (they are victims, but we have victims in-house here we can help). If our country allowed amnesty all this time (because we didn't enforce laws), then that's on us and that's where my mind is at the moment - we caused this with our lack of enforcement.
And then I read this somewhere: The DACA (Dream Act) bill will cost $330,000,000,000 over its life for 800,000 recipients, according to a December 2017 CBO report. THAT’S $407,375 per person (and Lefitst think Trump's Tax Plan will cost taxpayers?! SMH...) #FreeStuff.
