The two-ton, saber-toothed Arctic walrus spends half its life sitting on ice floes, hundreds of miles out at sea. The other half is spent below the ice, living a second life that no one dared explore until now. For while the walrus may look clumsy above the ice, underwater it can be all too swift and deadly.
Ravetch and his wife, producer Sarah Roberson, team up with the Inuit people to capture breathtaking footage not only of the walrus, but also of polar bears, the unusual narwhal with its unicorn horn, a bowhead whale, and the massive Greenland shark. Then for one last Arctic surprise, predator and prey come together over the spoils of a traditional Inuit walrus hunt - the walrus, the Inuit, and an uninvited polar bear.
