On December 13, 2022, the Cherokee County North Carolina Sheriff's department SWAT team shot an unarmed man (Jason Harley Kloepfer) in the doorway of his home while his hands were raised. The Sheriff's department later published a falsified account of the incident in an attempt to justify the shooting. This hidden video camera captured the entire incident and was later released to counter the falsified reports by Cherokee County Sheriff's Department.
