Religion appears to have evolved for a variety of different reasons, and while its obvious that there are negative aspects to religion (whether its Christianity, Islam, or others), Bret Weinstein's concept of "Metaphorical Truth" helps explain why religions provide some advantage to people who practice it. This is merely an high level overview of some of my positions on religion, and later video's will go into more detail.
