What is "Sankaku Complex"? (don't say PORN!)

Way back before CrunchyRoll infected normies and FUNimation was tweaking dubs to address misogyny & the patriarchy SANKAKU Complex was born from the early weeb pioneers & western speaking otakus as a translation news blog for 2Chan (in Japan) & it's Otaku culture. It was authored by native Westerners apparently living in Japan circa 2008-2011???

Having spent many of my early weeb days there it was a collection of international Weebs and Europeans & Eastern Asians exploring Anime/Otaku culture IN ENGLISH. It was sort of like the DELTA House in "Animal House" but they were all denizens of inter-web tribes & digital nomads passing thru from places like GAIA Online, 4chan, the Pirate Bay, MySpace, & Various forums. It was seemingly Moderator-Less and verbal free for all. Everyday new translated content straight from the bowels of 2chan. My first impressions of JPOP Idols (and their Scandals) came from places like Sankaku Complex. It was a rowdy place.

You wanted that UNCensored fan-sub of that new Eroge Anime? Sankaku already had reviews, pics, & links, You wanted to see cute Asians cosplay? Every Comiket was covered w/ at least 100 photos taken on site. It was very rare that Western Anime news ever made it to Sankaku - Dubs were for "Normies" and when you had a source straight from Japan itself one didn't need things like Adult Swim or CrunchyRoll. Sites like those were considered "training wheels". It was a glorious cafeteria of Weeb-dom....then you go to college & become a Professional WEEB (*koff 4chan *koff).

If you wanted to trace the origins of MEME culture (2012-2016) It became in places like 4chan & Sankaku for Westerners.
