Ciskei Incursion 1992

Incursion of Ciskei border. The African National Congress (ANC) and South African Communist Party (SACP) decided to lead thousands of their followers illegally through the border fence in a bid to overthrow the Ciskei government. The ANC and SACP leaders led their people from South Africa into Ciskei, chaos ensured and the troops of the Ciskei fired on the attackers. Ciskei was an independent black homeland that wasn't interested in Communism, as it was a traditional homeland. This is also known as the Bisho massacre
