💇🏻‍♀️Newsflash: you don’t need to be constantly washing, and wet-styling your hair in order for it to grow and be healthy. When I started following a historically inspired hair care routine 7 years ago, my hair was chin length and had never been able to grow very long or healthy. Now, my hair is nearly down to my thighs, and very healthy indeed. Lately, I have only been washing it once a month!
đź’•Did you know that historical people were pros when it came to dry-cleansing hair? Yes, you heard that right. It is possibly to clean hair when it is completely dry. One of the main ways historical people did this was by using boar bristle brushes, special combing techniques, and generally keeping the hair in protective styles or entirely covered.
💕If I had not have made this mindset shift, I would not have been able to grow my thick, curly hair this long. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have even wanted to grow my hair this long if I was continuing the high-maintenance routine of my “curly girl” years.
And if you are wondering, “what’s the point of growing long hair if you wear it up all the time?” My next video is actually about that VERY topic! Stay tuned!
