Nintendo cut Amiibo support for the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. Nintendo also hasn't released any new Amiibo in months, and when they do it's usually just new Smash Amiibo. A lot of new Nintendo Switch games have no accompanying Amiibo, or even support for existing Amiibo figures. All of these factors lead me to beleive Nintendo is almost ready to abandon the cute little collectible statues, and that's a sad thought.
