Endangered 'Big-Headed' Turtles Find New Home in London

Four rescued turtles have found a new home at London Zoo. The zoo said the big-headed turtles arrived in late 2018, after having been rescued from smugglers trying to illegally import them into Canada. This footage, released on August 14, shows one of the female turtles being moved into a new exhibit in the zoo’s Reptile House enclosure. “Big-headed turtles may not be conventionally cute with their disproportionately large heads and whip-like tails, but they represent a vitally important and unique branch of the evolutionary tree," said ZSL senior reptile keeper Daniel Kane.
