Once everyone's back at HQ, they hold a meeting on how to get Father Mikhail to the Vatican. Mental's ground troops have closed off the roads and the skies are taken over by Octanian Raiders. Professor Kiesel says that Vesuvius' eruption may get rid of the Raiders, but it is unlikely to happen any time soon. Carter comes up with a plan to get Vesuvius to erupt by using HAARP believing it to cause Earthquakes via satellite control. Professor Kiesel states that HAARP is for researching the ionosphere, but then General Brand confirms that HAARP is for making Earthquakes. The targeting system is down however, so beacons must be placed manually within the ruins of Pompeii. Carter will try to escort Father Mikhail to the Vatican on foot while Sam, Kenny, Rodriguez, and Jones place the beacons.
