This is one of my favorite interviews to date. Not just because I am a country girl, but because nourishing the earth and honoring the elements, is a topic close to my own heart.
I first met Blair Beattie when he brought Zach Bush to Sydney as part of the Regenerative Farming Tour in December 2022.
Blair is founder (and guiding father-figure) of the Australian collective of Farmer's Footprint (US), and is one of those blokes you just can't help but like. The man is definitely on a mission, but he doesn't push or press you to agree with him, nor does he try and persuade you to consider the information that he shares. He just speaks with soul (and a good dose of humor), and let's the facts, and the truth, speak for themselves. We are truly a lucky country to have Blair and his entire not-for-profit Farmer's Footprint team, working tirelessly to raise awareness about Regenerative farming, and educating old-school agriculturalists about the incredible possibilities now available to them. It's all about showing them how they can create a new and lasting legacy, on their land, and bringing communities together, no matter where we live, to support these generational families, as the lifeblood of this country that they are.
Blair is currently on an Australia-wide tour with his family, connecting with remote farmers and no doubt having some awesome yarns in the outback. Keep an eye out on their website for the "Re:connection Tour" with Zach Bush this November 11 in Byron Bay, and join their food movement today.
I hope you enjoy our informal chat and are inspired to get planting, in your own backyard!
