In der Heimat, da gibt's ein Wiederseh'n - Marschlied/German Marching Song + English Translation
Ein Marschlied, im Jahr 1914, zu Beginn des 1. Weltkriegs, von dem Berliner Komponisten Wilhelm Lindemann (1882-1941) komponiert (von ihm stammen auch die Lieder "Trink, trink, Brüderlein trink" und "Eine Muh, eine Mäh");

A marching song, composed in 1914, at the beginning of World War I, by the Berlin composer Wilhelm Lindemann (1882-1941) (he also wrote the songs "Trink, trink, Brüderlein trink" and " Eine Muh, Eine Mäh");
using two melodies composed by Friedrich Silcher (1789-1860): "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden" and "Die Vöglein im Walde", as well as the melody of the folk song "Hamburg ist ein schönes Städtchen".
Originally, a verse of the song "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden" was sung to the march (see the song card at 00:19) followed by the lyrics: "Gloria, Gloria, Gloria Viktoria! With heart and hand for the fatherland!". The song "Die Vöglein im Walde" was used as the refrain.
Sometimes the following line of text was added: "Who knows if we'll see each other again on the cool beach of the River Spree".
Interpreten/Artists: Musikkorps der Garde-Pioniere Berlin mit Gesang,
Aufnahme/Recorded: 1914 (einige Quellen sagen auch 1915/some sources also say 1915)
Text:
---
English Translation:
In this version only the chorus is sung:
The birds in the forest
They sang so wonder-, wonderfully,
In the homeland, in the homeland,
There will be a reunion!
In the homeland, in the homeland,
There will be a reunion!
