When one takes a serious look at the amount of energy and destruction of the earth that goes into EV production, including the massive amounts of fuel used in the mining operations and the scars left like those in the picture of the lithium mine, turns out they are worse. Then there is the 5 o'clock problem. Already overloaded grids that in some areas result in brownouts and in some rolling blackouts would go into severe overload and shutdown when everyone plugged their cars in to charge from fossil fuel derived power.
