Look what we found! This cute little charm came in a World’s Smallest Smooshy Mushy. It’s cute, but it can be more. With just a bit of resin and rhinestones, this ice cream is getting an upgrade.
Materials:
Opaque White UV Resin
Clear UV Resin
The above resins I purchased from Sophie & Toffee – you can use my referral link for 10% off your order. Click here: http://sophieandtoffee.refr.cc/kaywyne
Translucent Dark Yellow UV Resin
Translucent Purple UV Resin
Translucent Pink UV Resin
These we got from Amazon in a kit from FunShowcase with 12 colors of resin and a bunch of bezels and such too.
A clear plastic charm
Mica Powder – I used Precious Perls Purple and Pink and I forget which brand of the gold it was. But use what you have on hand to suit your project and taste obviously.
Rhinestones – the tiny nail art ones
Stickers – optional but then so are the rhinestones…or are they?
Silicone tools
UV lamp – optional if you have access to sunlight on the day you decide to do this
Ultra Fine Tip marker in black for the mouth

A project like this really is a craft-stash buster. You can personalize according to your available materials and taste. Just have fun with it!

Do you have a blind bag obsession? Are you up to your eyeballs in unboxing debris? Then you need a cat…I mean, cat toy! Seriously, this was a great fabric stash buster, and way to not throw all these bags away.

Materials:
Lining Cloth – heavy duty to resist claws. The color is unimportant really, scraps from other projects work great to use up that fabric stash.
Outer cloth – your preference again, more stash use, but something softer when they nose it and will also let the catnip waft through.
Ribbons, Feathers, Yarn, etc. – what your feline friend likes best and can rub/naw on safely
Leather Cording
Sewing Machine – you can hand stitch this as well, but I feel the need for speed
Iron
Ironing Board
Thread – the stronger the better. I prefer upholstery thread for durability. Make sure you use the appropriate needle for the thread you choose.
Sewing Accoutrements – bobbins, threaders, etc.
Tape Measure or ruler or both
Scissors
Catnip
Unboxing debris – do not use any bag that touched a toy Infused with a scent or silicone type squishie or inflating balloon trick or anything remotely chemical! If you wouldn’t put it in your mouth, well then don’t put it near theirs!

Needing inspiration and fun, I have been opening blind bags with my fellow creator, Daze, on our channel Blind Bag Hags. We’ve made it a rule, or more of a guideline really, to create something out of duplicates we get.

This is the first duplicate I used for that task. I decided to make a sculpture since the Doorables figures fit perfectly in my favored sculpting size range. It has been quite a while since I’ve sculpted with intent like this, and it’s nothing like riding a bike. I edited quite a bit out as there were a lot try, try, and try some more attempts and nothing but kneading the clay.

I did enjoy making both Stitch and this video. I am learning, relearning and remembering how to do things. I intend on making more videos like this so please stop back by to see if I am improving. I am having issues with rendering out audio, and I would like to get a better mic one day. But hey, the video rendered at least! Seventh times a charm. Thanks so much for reading this far, and I hope you like my video.

Materials:

Acrylic Paints used: (and just an fyi, the ones I use I have had for a very long time. The brands/colors may not be available anymore. So this is definitely a good stash buster to use up small amounts I can’t stop hoarding because you never know when you might need it. Yeah, that’s my story.)
Folk Art Brand:
True Black
Winter White
Hot Pink
Ceramcoat Brand:
Burnt Sienna
Americana Brand:
Hi-Lite Flesh
Sand
DecoArts Brand:
Dazzling Metallics – Venetian Gold
Ultra Gloss Acrylic Enamel – Christmas Red
Foam Shield – I already had one on hand, but I found it on the Walmart website, and sold by Century Novelty which shows it for $1.13! And it comes with a sword which I did not use for this process.
Mod Podge – the blue label one for paper is what I used in this video because it’s what I had on hand. There is probably a better one for foam.
Wedge Makeup Sponges
Paint brushes of various sizes
Painter’s Tape – get a brand better than the one I used. Blue Hawk was not a good fit for this project.
Aluminum Foil – optional for paint mixing surface
Matte Sealer Spray – I use Krylon Matte Finish
Total work time ~ roughly 6+ hands-on hours not including fails, brain farts, scraping of experiments gone wrong, and definitely not including drying time. Mostly the time was spent repainting the mouth, and cutting out the tape.

Check out where these little on..

There was a hole in the wall. Rather than spackle it over, it was decided a door was in order. From a conversation over coffee to my roommate’s new understanding of how I run with an idea, this is how the Mouse Door came to be.
In part 2, I’ve made a base out of white that fits along the baseboard to fill out the area where the stairs will be. Unfortunately, I failed to notice the camera had stopped filming while I was completing the bottom of the door area. I was in “the zone.” However, I don’t think it detracts from the overall project. Once again, I hope you enjoying watching how this project turned out.
Materials used:
Polymer Clay in various colors including, but not limited to (I used some scraps too):
Sculpey Original White
Sculpey Original Black
Sculpey Premo Grey Granite
Sculpey Premo Glow In The Dark
Sculpey Premo Burnt Umber
Sculpey Premo Spanish Olive
Sculpey III French Blue
Sculpey III Chocolate
Sculpey III Lemonade
Sculpey III Granny Smith
Sculpey III Translucent
Assorted chalk pastels and mica powders
Sculpey Gloss Glaze

I made a paper “map” of the wall to get the dimensions of the molding on the wall. I drew out a rough shape of a doorway. The rest I was winging as I went. I had no idea where I was going with this, and I hope you enjoy watching as I worked it out.

Traditionally speaking, I am a mixed media artist. I create graphics art, I knit, I crochet, I sculpt, I glue, I stitch, I click….aye aye aye…so I am not a traditional artist and prefer the “title” of crafter. I have been crafting since my grandmother taught me how to crochet to get me to sit quietly when I was at her house. I don’t like being tied to any one medium or method. I love to learn new things and tend to run with these for a time, but I always come back to my core loves: pixel art, dolls in clay and fiber, and writing. I enjoy creating fantasy worlds and crafting the characters in various forms such as digital illustrations, polymer sculptures, crochet dolls, and stories.
