Minding the Gap - Homeschooling (Myth20c - Ep99)

The future well being of one’s children is arguably the most important thing a parent can focus on. In addition to choosing a good mate, encouraging strong peer groups while your child is maturing have been shown as the two most important factors in helping them develop successfully. Beyond that, education is arguably an important aspect of a child’s maturation, but little evidence exists that public school is a required - let alone preferable - alternative to private school or other approaches. Today our guest Lynn Lockhart, mother of several young children, shares with us a brief history of the public education system in the United States and her strategies for giving her children the best home schooling education and chance in life that she has crafted to date.
