Geometry 10.2b, Circumference & Area of a Circle

An explanation of a circle as the locus of points in a plane that are a fixed distance from a point, called the "center of the circle". How we can cut a circle into wedge-shaped pieces and rearrange them into a shape that resembles a parallelogram to model how to find its area. We discuss the formula for the circumference of a circle and the area of a circle. Several examples of finding the area or circumference of a circle are given. Why we use an equal sign when using the pi symbol in an answer, compared to using an approximation symbol when using 3.14 as a substitute for pi.
