Stick defense, disarms and observations

A stick or bludgeoning/impact weapon is still one to pay respect to for it has stopping power. Unlike a knife or gun a club or stick can injure, incapacitate and kill fairly instantly. The impact tool is a weapon of opportunity and vehemence. It can target without too much in the way of placement simply because it does the job.

One thing is very certain and that it is usually the easiest of the big three to disarm. There isn’t really much in the way of technique needed. Just more sound principles to do so.
1) A working understanding of power, leverage and force vectors. Generally, speaking it is wiser to close in than run away.
2)The longer the stick and in some instances the heavier you can dislodge it using leverage.
3) Although the last principal is important once you have closed in and secured the weapon, it is wiser to employ violence than go for the disarm. In other words, entry, secure and beat down. Once tenderized then worry about the disarm.
4) You should always look out for their friends.
5) your entry should do multiple things 5 to be exact:
A. Get out of the way of the stick
B. Off balance the attacker
C. Gain control of the weapon arm
D. Potentially injure the person
E. Allow for the ease of effective combatives.
