Il Capo dei Capi/Corleone Miniseries | 1979–1981 (Episode 4)

Episode 4: Schirò and Boris Giuliano with his men go to the Punta Raisi airport in Palermo to arrest French chemists who have come to Sicily to teach Francesco Marino Mannoia (Bontate's chemist) to cut the drug, and on the other hand a meeting between the biggest mafia bosses. As soon as the police arrive at the airport, Commissioner Giuliano receives a phone call in which he is told that it is not possible to stop the two Frenchmen for lack of evidence.

Differences with historical events: In the fourth episode, judge Gaetano Costa is killed on the orders of Stefano Bontate. In reality the murder was commissioned by Salvatore Inzerillo, since the judge had signed arrest warrants for the boss Rosario Spatola and some of his men, and for Inzerillo himself.

At the end of the fourth episode Riina begins the second mafia war, ordering the assassination of Stefano Bontate, who was killed while he was stopped at a traffic light in Via Aloi by Giuseppe Lucchese and Pino Greco "Scarpuzzedda". A few weeks after Bontate's murder, Inzerillo was also killed by a commando composed of Pino Greco, Giuseppe Lucchese and Antonino Madonia, who were hidden in a van driven by Pino Marchese.
