Neoverse Trinity Edition - Playthrough Part 6-2

Things were pretty standard, but after the 15th battle I reached a place of 3 consecutive boss battles. At this point there were no more rewards, so no further upgrades or purchases were possible, so saving up on mission rewards and getting the best skills would be essential at that point. The first fight was against 3 squids, which regenerated themselves after being killed. The trick here is to enhance your attacks to the point where you can kill them all in a single turn. The next battle was against a spider which can skip your turns if you have armour, so the best strategy here is to focus on offence. The third and final fight was against the unknown object you've been carrying around. This boss has 3 phases. The first one is pretty easy and one shouldn't waste save their items for the subsequent ones. In the second stage it mimics your character (Helena in my case), so the strategy was to eliminate her guardian and then focus on her. The 3rd one was the most dangerous - it has tons of buffs and it changes its attack every time you hit it, so it's best to avoid its direct attacks and have it gain armour instead. Eventually I managed to defeat the weird alien, but I didn't get any interesting reward - just a text blurb that you've saved the universe. An equipment item or a costume would've been nice.

What this game lacks in story it has plenty in gameplay. I enjoy card games and this active style of combat compliments the strategy. The 3 characters are distinct enough to give people very different experiences and the game requires you to pay attention in order to succeed in the tougher battles. Some runs may be luck based depending on the cards and skills you get, but you can counter that by buying good items and having solid accessories. Visually the characters and enemy models look great. It's one of those games that's perfect on the go since you can complete a single battle of your run and continue later. I'd definitely recommend it to fans of card games even if it has a non-standard asymmetrical nature.
