I bin der Bua vom Saalachtal - Gebirgsjägerlied/German Mountain Troops + English Translation
---
A folk song sung by the Bad Reichenhall mountain troops in 2003. There are different text versions, e.g. there are versions where the Fulda valley, Neckar valley or Danube valley are sung about.
The Saalachtal is the name given to the middle and upper lower reaches of the Saalach, a mountain river in the Austrian state of Salzburg (Pinzgau, Flachgau) and in the south of Bavaria (Berchtesgadener Land).
The Saalach, formerly also called Spielbach or Salzburgische Saale, is a 105.5 km long tributary of the Salzach in the Austrian states of Tyrol and Salzburg and in the German Free State of Bavaria. The Saalach rises in the Kitzbühel Alps, flows through Bad Reichenhall, among other places, and flows into the Salzach near Freilassing.
