Live noise-concert with pneumatic tubes, digital sounds, light and movement

Playing with my pneumatic installation before it transformed into my kinetic sculpture called Pneuma-tix, and after a artist-in-residency of two weeks, in which I disconnected my pneumatic cylinders in order to play with only the tubes, lighting up in blacklight, as a living kinetic sculpture, leaving traces in the air. With the difficult task to combine live pneumatic sounds with digital sounds, which I generated live as well with my laptop.

Unfortunately my compressors couldn’t catch up with the amount of air I needed, to let the tubes move more wildly, because they were loosing too much air of course. Anyway, as an experiment it still worked out well, in my view, as forerunner for my next instrument.

I used Max/Msp to control both the tubes and the noise patches (The paid version of Pure Data) The lights and movements were mend to create an overall experience. It took place at Noisivision in Breda.
