How much does a Knee Stem Cell Treatment Cost?

You can go to our website and see prices because nothing drives me more crazy than going to a website and having no idea what things cost. Then how do you know that they're charging you this and someone else something different. For us a knee treatment is $2000 US dollars. 
First, that includes an MRI so we know exactly what's going on. Make sure there's no tumors, anything that would prevent us from doing treatment and make sure you're good to go. Second, we do a full blood panel. We just want to make sure you're healthy, no signs or symptoms of cancer or anything like that. So that's included. Finally, we inject 25 million stem cells. We give you a certificate showing that they are pure mesenchymal stem cells. They are pure of anything that could cause any issue. They're certified by a third party lab. It's not us just saying these are good cells. So that's what it costs at our clinic. 
If you look at other clinics prices will vary in the United States. They do some mesenchymal stem cell treatments. There's a couple different options. They do it from fat derived cells. To get them they do a bit of a liposuction. They then spin it up in a centrifuge to separate the liquid and they then take that liquid and re-inject it. Now, that technically is not a stem cell therapy, but it's clever marketing and they call it like that. However, less than 1% of what they inject is actually mesenchymal stem cells. You're lucky if you get a hundred maybe a thousand stem cells. Another option is bone marrow, the same thing, but they chip into your hip and take the liquid out. You're lucky if you get 10,000 mesenchymal stem cells from that. These aren't me just pulling numbers out of a hat. These are actually based from a conference I went to with Dr. Arnold Caplan. He is the man that named with Mesenchymal stem cells. He is a professor at case Western university. And this is pretty much his opinion on those therapies. They are not stem cell therapies. They are cell therapies being marketed as stem cell therapies. The third option is that there are two labs in the US approved for umbilical based mesenchymal stem cells.
The difference is they cannot isolate and cultivate the cells. So you're lucky if you get 5 million stem cells that way. Those are what I've seen from patients that have done cell therapy in the US see the best results. Because you're talking millions versus tens or hundreds of thousands. But even that becomes a extremely expensive. We've actually had doctors that do those treatments come to us because of the cost.
We are much more affordable. You can compare us to other clinics that do what we do. There's one in Panama, everyone knows that from Dr. Riordan. He is like the godfather of this type of treatment, but you'll see, it's very expensive down there. There's also a great clinic down in Colombia that does these treatments, but again very expensive. They're more focused on like celebrities, athletes, you know it becomes the money game. 
We're fortunate to be here in Mexico where we have socialized medicine and we have private care. Because of that, it keeps the costs down because the majority of people, if they get injured, they're just going to go to the socialized healthcare service and get it done for free, even if they have to wait. Unfortunately, doctors, biologists, nurses do not make nearly as much as they make in places like the United States. That keeps the costs down. Our lab, for example, has been doing this for nine years now and their equipment's paid off. They're focused on the Mexican market, where income disparity, compared to places like the United States or Canada, it's much lower. They aren't trying to jack the prices up just to make as much money as they can off this. We follow the same model. We're giving you the Mexican price. Not deep gringo practices we like to jokingly call it.
