Lux Radio Theatre was without doubt the biggest, most important, most expensive drama anthology program on radio. It ran from 1934 until 1955, when the show transitioned to the NEW medium of Television. Produced by Cecil B. DeMille this live performance radio adaptation of the Dashielle Hammett Hit Hollywood movie, starring William Powell and Myrna Loy, was originally broadcast on the CBS Network, in 1936.
