Overall this is a really solid game with light Metroidvania elements. The controls are responsive and the combat is definitely the main draw. There are some platforming and very few cheap deaths out of those, but these are not the primary focus. The story is somewhat basic, but the world building is interesting enough to keep you invested. There are plenty of items and characters in there that seemingly serve no purpose, but still add to the atmosphere. Perhaps they are more significant in New Game+. I can easily recommend it to people who enjoy 2D action games.
