How can we change the hiring game?
When I was a recent college graduate with a bachelor of science in computer science, people assumed that companies lapped me up. But that wasn't the case. It was a struggle to find work at a place like McDonnald's or Walmart.
Now that I'm on the other side freelancing, with clients coming to me for work I'm now considering ways to make hiring better--both for companies and job candidates. For any given position, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of qualified candidates that are vying for a golden project. It's disheartening, embarrassing, and stressful for all parties involved.
IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE THIS WAY!
I believe the hiring game absolutely has to change. We're over-complicating it.
In this short video I describe my thoughts on hiring in 2021 and moving forward. I hope to hire like this when I get to the point of hiring.
Please feel free to share your thoughts. Do you agree? Disagree?

Need a project built? I'd love to work with you! I really like building software for clients, whether you're a high school kid with a cool idea or a fortune 500 company wanting to migrate away from an awkward system. I especially love to take on projects that are zany and creative!
