Rockman X4 - Zero

After getting a small taste of playing as Zero in Megaman X3, Megaman X4 finally lets you play the full game as Dr. Wily's masterpiece from start to finish.

The first thing you notice is that Zero in X4 is significantly different from his appearance in X3.
Here, the red reploid is armed with a beam saber that has been nerfed down from previous games with no buster at all. Meaning where X could just blast away from a distance, Zero needs to get up close and personal with enemies. Also, instead of getting new weapons from Mavericks like X, Zero gets new techniques and moves.

The flip side is that unlike X, most of Zero's techniques don't require energy (with the exception of the technique he gets from the Cyber Peacock), so you can do some effective combos on enemies.
