Let's Play Sam & Max in The City That Dares Not Sleep - Part 4 - A Plot Hole & A Twist Villain
Watch here for better quality: https://youtu.be/urold-mlIAA Inside Max's arms which is a rec room, Papierwaite has found the arms control override which happens to be a two player game of Twister. One player must press the button on the arcade machine then read out the commands so that they other player can perform them. Sam needs to get three commands correct in a row except Max's psychic ventriloquism keeps making Sam give the wrong commands. He has to say the opposite command to get it right. Just then, a Maimtron crashes in and it's exposed nuclear core starts leaking deadly radiation. Dark dimensional beings are immune, but Sam is not so he'll need the help of the only anthropomorphic cockroach in the city. He gets Max to start craving cockroaches. With the use of Max's legs, Sam gets Max to march back to Boscotech where Sal is having a moment with Girl Stinky. Max's eats Sal and Girl Stinky falls, but she's rescued by Skunkape. Sam convinces Sal to finish the game in Max's arms, but he becomes back weakened by the radiation. Turns out cockroaches aren't immune after all. Sal dies. Plot hole: If Sal died from radiation, how did Sam Jr. survive? With all of Max's limbs under Sam's control, it's off to battery park. The electric shock shorts out Max's psychic powers as planned and now to see what's behind that door. The plot is paused by our Narrator to give us one final guess of who our traitor is then Sam walks in and spoils everything. TAKE NOTES DISNEY, THIS IS HOW YOU DO A TWIST VILLAIN RIGHT. It turns out our Narrator was none other than Max's Superego. When Max discovered his psychic powers, Max's Superego was given manifestation and sentience. He realized throughout his entire existence being part of Max's Brain, he was always ignored. Max was always a being of pure Id never interested in more highbrow culture. As a narrator in the Devil's Playhouse of Max's brain, he crafted the stories of the events that took place this entire season so he could build up the moment when Max's brain would catch fire and explode in a big bang that would wipe out the northeastern U.S. thus bringing the Superego's suffering existence to an end.
