Started the day at Oak Mountain shelter and by far this is the coldest day of the trip so far. My shoes were completely frozen from walking in the rain the day before and they were very hard to get on my feet.
Once I got moving it turned into an absolutely beautiful day with a ton of great overlooks and several small waterfalls and flowing creeks.
Near the end of the day, I find myself in the ridge zone where there are no flat spots for a tent. This happens frequently on this trail but I lucked out and managed to find a tiny flat spot for the night and it turned out to be a great little spot right off the trail and 100 yards or so from a nice little creek.
Luckily the rain that was supposed to come in overnight never showed up and it was a great night of camping!!!
