Truthinscripture.org Pastor Rick Kabrick Sunday September 19, 2021 Yeshua in The feast of Tabernacles.
Sukâ = booths, temporary shelter. סֻכָּתSukkot is pluralSo Feast of Sukkot
GOD desires so much to tabernacle with HIS creation, man.Look at Eden, Satan interrupts. The Temple, Satan interrupts, gets man to destroy it well their own free will. GOD rebuilds, Man destroys again. So now GOD tabernacles among us, HE is in us, we are indwelled, we are in HIM. Amazing.
But I don’t believe the Church will be here for it, we may see it, may well be seeing the percussor to it right now. But again for another study.
The 1000 years in Revelation are an actual 1000 year time. Christ returns and will reign over an earthly kingdom, after which the new Heavens and Earth will arrive.
The Fest of Sukkot is one of the three pilgrimage feasts, or feasts for which Jewish men are commanded to “go up” to Jerusalem.
The Feast of Sukkot commemorates the day when, over 2,000 years ago on the first day of Sukkot (a High Sabbath), the Messiah was born. HE was the very Word of the LORD GOD made flesh, and HE dwelt or tabernacled with us.JOH 1:14, And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory.
The Hebrew word for convocation is miqra =מִקְרָא and one of the meanings of the word is rehearsal.
Most Christian scholars agree that the Feast of Tabernacles is symbolic of Christ's Second Coming when HE will establish HIS earthly kingdom.
ZEC14:4, On that day (second Coming) His (Yeshua) feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
LEV 24:2, “Command the sons of Israel that they bring to you clear oil from beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.”
JOH 8:12, … I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
This feast of Sukot was a time of celebration, of rejoicing, of thanksgiving. This is actually where we get the idea of our Thanksgiving Holiday. The puritans and pilgrims were very aware of the OT and these appointed times of the LORD.
The water libation ceremony had a twofold purpose. The first purpose of the ceremony was to thank the LORD for the current harvest and to ask HIM to provide abundant rain for the crops in the coming year.
In Jewish tradition, the waters of Siloam were called the “wells of salvation”, based on ISA 12:3. And it is with these waters that the kings of the House of David, from whom the Savior would come, were anointed.
It was only on the eighth and final day of the Feast that the water libation ceremony was not repeated. And that is exactly the day Yeshua chose to give a public invitation to accept HIM as the source of the living water of salvation.
JOH 7:37-39 said, “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Yeshua stood and said in a loud voice, 'Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
Only hours later, during the illumination of the Temple ceremony, HE would make the claim, “I am the light of the world.”
These lamps were to remind the people of the pillar of fire that had guided their ancestors in their wilderness journey after their exodus from Egypt.
PSA 118:25-26 Save us, we pray, O LORD! O LORD, we pray, give us success! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We bless you from the house of the LORD.
JOH 8:12, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light that gives life.”
The dedication of the First Temple took place during this feast.
Yeshua was born on this feast during this feast, although there is some debate but not really that much. One thing we know it was NOT December 25th the winter solstice the date of most false gods births.
Sadly, no matter how you slice it, The Jewish people celebrate them and fail to see Yeshua, The Christians see Yeshua and fail to celebrate HIM properly.
DAN 7:25, And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law;
We often think that our being of one mind, being at peace with others depends on them. Of course, In part that is true, but it also depends on us. We need to let GOD worry about their part, and we need to do our part.
