Developer Prymordium, inspired by older horror titles like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, release the first chapter of their Simulacrum game on August 1, 2019. The indie title — which sadly has virtually no reviews or exposure for as long as it's been released — is a decent game for the presumably lower budget independent developers tend to have. This is definitely a labor of love, with riddles, enemies, and environments very similar in style to the older titles that sparked this game's creation.
Among other odes to especially Silent Hill, the controls themselves even reflective of the earlier Playstation D-pad movement controls. Given that it's on PC and uses a keyboard, the well-known W–A–S–D movement is much more manageable than the earlier PS controls, and the mouse can also be used movement, with double-click causing Abigail to run. E interacts with items (read a note, pull a lever, etc.).
Trapped in a dark world, Abigail must find her way back home by solving riddles to escape a hellish nightmare and discover the roots of her past. Does where she finds herself reflect her inner struggles? Will she find those she loves here? If so, can they all escape together? Let's play Simulacrum: Chapter 1 and learn their fates together.
