STAY AWAY, JOE [UNRELEASED 1968 ALBUM] [PLUS RECORDING SESSIONS]
*** Recorded October 1, 1967 & January 15-17, 1968 ***
"Stay Away, Joe" would be a 1968 soundtrack album by Elvis Presley at RCA, if released.
It would represent the soundtrack album for the namesake film released that year.
The album was released worldwide on Follow That Dream, catalog number 506020 975056, on May 8, 2013.
As the movie only featured 4 songs and Elvis' EP releases had been killed over a year before it hit the theaters, RCA decided to not create a soundtrack album for an Elvis film for the first time in 12 years.
Only the opening credits song, "Stay Away", was released at the time to promote the movie. As the other songs didn't have any selling potential, the single's B-side was a recording sessions leftover, "U. S. Male".
Apart from "All I Needed Was the Rain" and "Stay Away, Joe" were shelved and released on budget albums over the next two years. "Dominic" would only be released in 1994.
In 2013 FTD brought the unreleased album to the public for the first time.
Here we bring you the full 1968 unreleased album, plus the surviving recordings sessions and a bonus. We hope you like it. Enjoy!
