Little Noah Scion of Paradise - Playthrough Part 3
My first run here was cut short when I tackled one of the challenge rooms in the second world. The enemies there can kill you in 3 hits and they weren't staggered by my attacks. On the bright side of things I still collected some mana and got some upgrades, most importantly I unlocked an extra skill slot meaning that I could use 2 powerful abilities in a row rather than having good Lilliputs just sit in the inventory. I also added an extra pedestal for some nice passive boosts and got the Bounceback ability allowing you to quickly recover when hit.
My second run was much more successful. Early on I got Bramwell, whose skill is shooting a bunch of homing wind blades. He's very useful in damaging far away enemies. My other skill slot was filled by Quickshot who unleashes a barrage of shotgun shots from above. Lore-wise we learn that the witch who created the ruins also made Zipper. Champions apparently have free will and are not a reflection of their master. Evetually I reached the boss of the Winding Caverns again - the fire lion Fang. The trick to this fight is to never be on the same level as it to avoid its fast charge attacks. Having ranged champs also really helped with that. During the second phase one has to be mindful to avoid the platforms which are on fire. Once you win Greigh unleashes an attack on Noah, but Zipper protects her. The villain retreats and Noah demonstrates how sweet she is by expressing genuine concern for her cat friend.
The next world is The Depths. Here we found another one of the Witch's Diary notes saying that she built a weather machine, which is what Greigh is after to implement his world destroying plan. Things were going pretty well until I got greedy and tried a challenge room here, which lead to my death. I should really stop doing that.
With the obtained Mana I unlocked the Serenity Bandage artefact, which heals you every time you clear a room. Same with the Plucky Herb Pot giving you an extra herb if you are under 50% health when you finish a room. You don't get them straight away, but they're added to the pool of things you can find in the levels. Then I got some always useful damage boost and an extra potion.
