In this video, I show off the process of making a lateen sail, which is what ships had before modern spankers (and some still do). I mess about with the topsail and the mizzen crossjack as well, since I don't consider the rig in my source drawing, which has one lateen sail on top of another, to be historically accurate. This isn't the first time I've deviated from my source material, but hey, I had to start with something!
