Text:
Im tiefen Tal, wo der Wildbach rauscht
am schroffen Fels entlang
Da hab ich oftmals dem Lied gelauscht,
das mir das Wasser sang
Und weil das so lustig geklungen
da nahm ich die Laute zur Hand
und habe beim Wandern gesungen:
Mein schönes Heimatland
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
und habe beim Wandern gesungen:
Mein schönes Heimatland
Im tiefen Wald, wo das Forsthaus steht,
die Förster-Gretel wohnt
Da wurd ich einst im Vorrübergehen,
mit einem Gruß belohnt
Und weil sie so freundlich gewunken,
da nahm ich die Laute zur Hand
und hab ihr dann Lieder gesungen
aus meinem Heimatland
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
und hab ihr dann Lieder gesungen
aus meinem Heimatland
Das tiefe Tal und der tiefe Wald,
sie waren all' mein Glück
An den Wildbach und an das Försterhaus
denk ich noch oft zurück
Und leuchten noch immer die Sterne
dann gehen wir zwei Hand-in-Hand
und singen die Lieder so gerne
aus unsrem Heimatland
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
und singen die Lieder so gerne
aus unsrem Heimatland

English Translation:
In the deep valley where the torrent rushes
along the rugged rock
There I often listened to the song
that the water sang to me
And because it sounded so funny
I picked up the lute
and sang while hiking:
My beautiful homeland
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
and sang while hiking:
My beautiful homeland
In the deep forest where the forester's house stands
the forester's Gretel lives
There I was once rewarded with a greeting
as I passed by
And because she waved so kindly,
I picked up the lute
and then sang songs to her
from my home country
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
and then sang songs to her
from my home country
The deep valley and the deep forest
they were all my luck
To the torrent and the forester's house
I still think back often
And if the stars are still shining,
then we both go hand in hand
and we like to sing the songs
from our homeland
Vallerrihihi Vallerrahaha
and we like to sing the songs
from our homeland
