(Pikachu) Aianshan Metallic Colored Pencils Review Pikachu Metallic Card (Dremico's Art)

I ordered Aianshan Metallic Colored Pencils about 9 to 10 months ago. I never used them other than to make a few marks to see if they were metallic. I always make it a point to let people know that it's not really the product that you use to make art, but the skill of the artist that's important. That's mostly true in MOST cases. As far as these metallic pencils go, they are probably middle to middle high quality. The Derwent brand probably has more metallic sheen. these pencils seem closer to Crayola Metallic Pencils, but I haven't used them in a while, so i don't remember.

I wasn't disappointed though. I thought that the final drawing (demonstration drawing) came out outstanding. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm not getting the same results as Derwents as far as metallic sheen is concerned. I have a theory though. The metallic pencils in the various colored pencil brands are made with different ingredients. I remember reading that the gold color actually included real copper. It may have been the Fabercastell or Crayola brand; I don't remember. It seems that the darker metallics generally don't do that well (look at my coin art from 2 years ago) It could also be that the silver colors just shine more (see my quarter coin art (2 years ago)). I'm Much more skilled at realism now that it really wouldn't matter if the shine is mediocre. I could probably re-draw my old drawing with the darker metallics and get better results. The paper i used back them was also not as good as the Canson paper that i use now.
