*BASED ON A TRUE STORY*. On St. Patrick’s Day, a man (Basehart) stands on the ledge of a skyscraper for 14 hours, threatening to commit suicide by jumping. A policeman (Douglas) develops a rapport with him and tries to talk him out of it.
