A frustrated police detective (Foster) is repeatedly passed over for promotion, but is assigned to pursue a suspect’s girlfriend (Blair) to gain evidence on a diamond robbery case. The two fall in love, and he begins to decide that she – and the diamonds – are worth more than his career.
