Ultraverse Prime (1994, Mega CD)

Ultraverse Prime is a scrolling beat'em up game by Malibu Interactive. It was only released in North America, and only as part of the package Ultraverse Prime / Microcosm which was published by Sony Imagesoft.
The game stars Malibu Comics' superhero Ultraverse Prime who needs to rescue his kidnapped friend Kelly. The game is a standard brawler for one or two players. Prime can punch, kick and jump, and use a limited number of super attacks where shoots balls of energy into all directions. There some moves similar to Konami's Batman Returns on the SNES, as you can pick up two enemies and smack them together, or grab an enemy and shmash him into the background (this will often breaks things and reveal power-ups sometimes).
Every level is separated into three stages. Some stages are also flying sequences with auto-scrolling. However, you do not have a long-range attack, you still need to punch approaching enemies, mines and rockets.
