The Ballad of Mister Metokur is an animated documentary about one James Patrick O’Shaughnessy (AKA “Mister Metokur” or simply “Jim”), narrated by Cancerless Jim (a fictitious cartoon character based on Mr. O’Shaughnessy) using actual audio clips of Mr. O’Shaughnessy’s voice. Mr. O’Shaughnessy is an enigmatic internet personality best known for his humorous informational videos on various internet-related subjects, and for his involvement in “Gamergate.” An active internet presence since at least 2007, he has published content under many different handles, including Jim81Jim, GamesGoodMeBad, MidLifeJim, InternetAristocrat, and most recently Mister Metokur. However, very little is known about the man himself. This video explores Mr. O’Shaughnessy’s background, his early internet activities, and various other aspects of the “Jim lore.” Later installments in this series will explore more recent events in the Jim chronology.
