Filmed in and around Boulevard du Montparnasse and Montparnasse Station in Paris, France. The demolition site was located at 348 rue Lecourbe, Paris.
2 songs, 1 mimed, 1 "music video" for French TV. Originally broadcast on October 15, 1967.
For years, collectors of Jimi called this the Montparnasse footage as the demolition footage with the band miming to The Wind Cries Mary was the site of the old Montparnasse Station. The street scenes with The Burning of the Midnight Lamp as the soundtrack were filmed at a market on Boulevard du Montparnasse.
And, again for years, only the B&W version of this footage was available. It was just in the last couple of years that this brilliant colour footage came onto the scene. I watched these clips in B&W for over 30 years, so to see this clip in colour after so long was amazing!
The following two uploads of this footage are not as good quality wise, however for completeness, I have uploaded both.
1. The Burning of the Midnight Lamp
2. The Wind Cries Mary
