Little Noah Scion of Paradise - Playthrough Part 2
The new run I did was more successful. First I picked a different avatar (costume) the Sub Zero Knight Noah, which slightly reduces skill cooldown and boosts the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Lilliput attacks. During the run I picked up the 3-star Goddess Amelie and put her in the special move slot. She summons a stream of tornadoes covering a fourth of the screen, thus being extremely useful when facing a group of enemies. This time I managed to beat the Titan boss since I was familiar with his attack patterns. Still he does a ton of damage, so a simple mistake can cost you a third of your health. Upon its defeat, Noah learns that the Sephiroth-looking strange is called Greigh and he told our heroine that her father is dead. Zipper consoled her that he's probably lying and the duo proceeded to chasing the villain. Unfortunately the battle with the Titan left me at low health, so I died shortly after starting the next level.
This gave me an opportunity to use the gathered mana. I bought the Potion Cache upgrade, which gives you the opportunity to replenish your potions at the start of each level increasing survivability. If I had this I wouldn't have died so easily on my previous run. I also increased the damaged I dealt and got the Aether Thrust - a directed dash used for platforming and chasing down enemies.
I then started another run which was going much smoother. Now the fight against the Titan was pretty easy. The Winding Caverns stages definitely felt more challenging with shielded enemies and healers preventing your progress. Halfway through Noah finds a witch's diary. She was apparently the creator of the ruins and somehow related to Zipper. Later on Noah treated the ungrateful cat to a meal and then was attacked by a boss monster - Jack. It is using air magic and dashes around really fast. When you defeat if Greigh appears again and reveals that the ruins are some sort of a doomsday weapon and Zipper is the key to activating it. The cat has an existential crisis, but Noah snaps him back to reality and their relationship gets better. After a couple of levels Greigh appears again and summons a new boss monster for you to deal with. Fang is a giant fire-breathing lion. It dashes between different platforms, so the best strategy I found was to not be on its level and attack it from below. Unfortunately it also spits fireballs and one such was my demise.
When I died this time Zipper came back with me. You can now give him the gifts you collect during the run for him to give you gold and Lilliputs in your subsequent run. I think that those are better spent on upgrading you favourite Lilliputs instead. Using the mana I unlocked the Goblet giving you a free accessory when you start your adventure. I also increased the number of potions Noah can carry and their efficiency. Plus I upgraded the damage dealt, which is always useful.
