We'll start by going through all the familiar endings before I get to the new stuff. Stanley shows up for work as usual to his job of pushing buttons on a keyboard as ordered by the monitor on his desk, but today for some reason, the orders don't come. In fact, all of his coworkers are missing. Steve from accounting, Heather, and even his boss Mr. Johnson is gone. Stanley finds a keypad behind Mr. Johnson's desk and the numbers 2-8-4-5 appear in his head. Putting in those numbers activates a passage to an elevator that takes him to an underground mind control facility where Stanley and his missing coworkers are monitored throughout the building and controlled. Stanley shuts down the power to the facility so that he and everyone else will never be turned into mindless slaves again. He steps out into the outside world and experiences the pleasures of nature, fresh air, and sunlight.
